Are you a teacher who feels like an exhausted ELF but would rather be SANTA? Take this personality quiz to see if you have what it takes to be your own boss, instead of getting bossed around. Teachers make excellent Santas (Entrepreneurs) while some teachers are better suited to be ELFS. ake this 2 minute quiz to see if you have what it takes to be a SANTA not an ELF!
You may not know this, teachers, but there are really two types of people: Santas and Elves. What!? Stay tuned is I'm going to be sharing with you how you're going to find out if you're a Santa, or Elf.
Some people believe that we're actually born with either being an entrepreneur, or our personality is better suited to be an employee. Well, I know for me, that I could never go back to working for someone else, to have a boss, to being bossed around. No, that's not going to work for me. I've been an entrepreneur for close to 20 years now, I think, having my own businesses and this being my fourth business. And yeah, I have no intention of ever going back and working for someone else. I like running my own show. And I like having this vision this dream and making it a reality and that's so exciting, but doesn't suit everyone.
So, have you ever wondered if you are better suited to be an entrepreneur or an employee. Or another way to say it is. Do you want to be your own boss or do you want to have a boss, and there's nothing wrong with either one. And in fact, did you know that teachers actually stay in the teaching profession 2.5 times more than the average American? The average American has something like, 15 job changes, career changes from the time of university to the time that they retire. 15 different career changes job changes and teachers stay in teaching 2.5 times more than the average American. It's no wonder then that teachers get totally burnt out. We change, we grow, we become different people. Are you the same person you were when you graduate high school? Definitely not. Are you the same person you were when you graduated University/College? Definitely not, right?
So wouldn't it make sense that you're not the same person when you got your first teaching job? We change, we adapt, our passions are things that get us excited and get us up and moving. They change right? If you are a teacher wanting to leave teaching, then it's very important, the first step is for you to find out whether you're better suited to be an entrepreneur or unemployed. And maybe you think you know, but stay tuned because I'll share with you how you can find out for sure.
So, going back to this idea of teachers staying 2.5 times more. Well, here's the thing. If you don't love what you're doing, what's the point? Why go and continue to do something that isn't fueling you, isn't bringing you joy? So, that is the first thing that you need to really tackle. Are there changes that you can make with inside your teaching career? Is it moving up? Is it moving to a different grade level? Is it moving to a different building? And if you've thought through that and I'm sure you have and that's not going to help you, then it's time to really look at what is it and it really comes down to two things. Either you start looking for another job, have another boss, or you start looking at being your own boss creating your own dream building your own business.
All right, so I've left you in suspense enough, if this is helpful for you so far, please do hit the like button and subscribe down below. So I have this quiz. Are you a Santa, or are you an elf? You can be unemployed and then all of a sudden in your 50s or 60s you can say, "No, I'm going to start my own business", and that's okay too. But here's the thing. The idea is to take this quiz now, so you know, what are you best suited for what's your personality? What is your personality best suited for? And this will save a lot of time and struggle because let me tell you, creating and launching a business is no joke.
